One of our key clients is on the lookout for a Ventilation Officer at their operation in NSW.

Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee the implementation of the ventilation system and ensure the establishment of effective ventilation standards for the mine. Utilising your strong communication skills with various stakeholders, you will offer strategic advice on short to medium term mine development to enhance ventilation efficiency and mine value.

Additionally, you will contribute to managing, planning, implementing, and monitoring the underground mine ventilation and gas drainage systems to ensure compliance with legislation and site requirements. Strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

To thrive in this position, you should possess:

  • A Ventilation Officers Practicing Certificate issued by the Board of Examiners.

  • Demonstrated experience in underground coal mining operations and specialized knowledge in ventilation.

  • The ability to devise innovative solutions for complex problems and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders throughout the site.

  • A solid background in hazard identification, risk assessment principles, and ensuring compliance with ventilation-related legislation and site safety management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Ventilation Officers Practicing Certificate issued by the Board of Examiners.

  • Formal qualifications as a Ventilation Officer recognized by Queensland or eligibility for mutual recognition.
